Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains the rules for using the Closer Singles website, applications, messaging, profiles, and related services (collectively, “Closer”). This AUP applies to every visitor and member. By accessing or using Closer, you agree to follow it.
Closer is an adults-only dating service. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement to create an account or use member features.
1. Age and identity requirements
- You may not use Closer if you are under 18, create an account for a minor, permit a minor to use your account, or seek romantic or sexual contact with a minor.
- You must provide truthful age and identity information. Impersonation, stolen photos, misleading identity information, fake verification materials, and attempts to evade age or identity checks are prohibited.
- If we reasonably suspect that a member is under 18 or has misrepresented identity or age, we may immediately restrict or terminate the account while we investigate.
2. Illegal acts and dangerous activity
You may not use Closer to commit, promote, request, plan, facilitate, conceal, or encourage any unlawful act. This includes trafficking, exploitation, violence, stalking, extortion, theft, fraud, money laundering, illegal drug or weapons transactions, or attempts to obtain another person’s private information unlawfully.
You also may not use Closer to threaten imminent harm, recruit others for criminal activity, evade law enforcement, or distribute instructions or materials intended to enable serious wrongdoing.
3. Child sexual exploitation and abuse
Closer has zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation or abuse. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”), including real, illustrated, computer-generated, altered, or AI-generated depictions.
- Sexualizing a minor; grooming, enticing, soliciting, or attempting to meet a minor for sexual purposes; or requesting, possessing, sharing, or threatening to share sexual content involving a minor.
- Child sex trafficking, sextortion of a minor, or content that promotes, normalizes, jokes about, or instructs others in child sexual exploitation.
- Links, coded language, off-platform directions, or other attempts to obtain or distribute prohibited material.
We may remove content, preserve relevant evidence, terminate accounts, and report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline and appropriate law-enforcement authorities, as required or permitted by law.
4. Sexual content and sexual misconduct
Closer is a dating service, not a pornography, escort, or commercial-sex platform. You may not post or send:
- Nudity, pornography, graphic sexual acts, visible genitals, sexual bodily fluids, or sexually explicit profile photos, videos, usernames, biographies, prompts, or public content.
- Unsolicited sexual messages, images, requests, or repeated sexual advances after another person declines or does not consent.
- Offers, requests, advertisements, or arrangements for prostitution, escort services, “sugar” arrangements involving payment or material benefit, or any other commercial sexual service.
- Content that depicts, promotes, threatens, celebrates, or solicits rape, sexual assault, sexual violence, incest, bestiality, or exploitation.
5. Consent and intimate privacy
- You may not create, upload, share, sell, threaten to share, or request intimate content of another person without that person’s freely given consent.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, hidden-camera content, sexual deepfakes, AI-generated sexual depictions of an identifiable person, voyeurism, sextortion, and “revenge porn” are prohibited.
- You may not record, publish, or distribute private Closer conversations, personal contact details, precise locations, or other private information for harassment, intimidation, blackmail, or exploitation.
- Consent may be withdrawn at any time. A prior relationship, match, message, or exchange of content never establishes continuing consent.
6. Human trafficking and exploitation
You may not recruit, advertise, transport, harbor, control, coerce, deceive, buy, sell, or exploit any person for labor, services, or commercial sex. Prohibited conduct includes sex trafficking, forced labor, debt bondage, confiscating identity documents, recruiting through false romantic or employment promises, or arranging commercial sexual activity involving any person. Any commercial sexual activity involving a minor is prohibited regardless of purported consent.
7. Fraud, scams, and deceptive behavior
- Romance scams, catfishing for financial gain, phishing, investment or cryptocurrency schemes, advance-fee schemes, fake emergencies, and requests for gift cards, wire transfers, account credentials, or money under false pretenses are prohibited.
- You may not manipulate members into making payments, hide a commercial motive, operate coordinated fake accounts, send spam, or use Closer for unauthorized advertising, lead generation, recruiting, or affiliate activity.
- You may not misuse subscriptions, payment disputes, promotions, referrals, chargebacks, or platform features to obtain services or money fraudulently.
8. Harassment, violence, and hateful conduct
- No bullying, stalking, intimidation, doxxing, coercive control, blackmail, threats, repeated unwanted contact, or encouragement of self-harm or violence.
- No content or conduct that attacks, dehumanizes, excludes, or promotes violence against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or another protected characteristic.
- No glorification or recruitment for violent extremist or terrorist organizations.
9. Platform integrity and security
- Do not access another person’s account, share accounts, bypass verification or safety controls, scrape member data, use unauthorized bots, probe for vulnerabilities, introduce malware, or interfere with Closer’s operation.
- Do not use information obtained through Closer to build databases, conduct background investigations without lawful authority, discriminate unlawfully, or contact members outside the service in ways they did not authorize.
- Reports and appeals must be honest. Knowingly false, retaliatory, or abusive reports are prohibited.
10. Reporting concerns
Use the report or block controls inside Closer whenever available. You may also report a safety or policy concern to safety@closersingles.com. Include the member’s profile name or account information and a clear description, but do not email illegal sexual imagery or CSAM.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Suspected online child sexual exploitation may also be reported directly through the NCMEC CyberTipline.
11. Enforcement
Closer may investigate suspected violations and take action proportionate to the risk and available information. Actions may include warnings, content removal, feature restrictions, verification requests, payment or account holds, suspension, permanent account termination, device or payment blocking, preservation of records, and reports to payment providers, safety organizations, or law enforcement.
Serious violations—including suspected exploitation of a child, human trafficking, credible threats, sexual violence, non-consensual intimate content, or organized fraud—may result in immediate removal without prior notice. We may cooperate with lawful investigations and disclose information when required or permitted by law.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this AUP to address new risks, product changes, or legal requirements. The “last updated” date will show when revisions take effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Questions about this AUP may be sent to support@closersingles.com or through our Contact & Support page.
